Welcome to the May 2011 edition of the BCC ENews. With the end of the end of the season proper virtually upon us, now we can start thinking about the Summer Programme. Cath has much of it arranged but we will finalize it during next week’s cheese and wine evening.

Recent Awards

Two of our members have recently had successful applications for RPS distinctions.

Ed Juon achieved his LRPS in April, and Lin Osborn gained her ARPS just last week.

Well done to both. Do I feel another home-made evening coming on? Maybe ...

Peak Photographic are holding their annual competition again in conjunction with the “Buxton Festival” and “Visit The Peak District and Derbyshire” First prize is £300.00, with 2nd & 3rd prizes of photographic courses, and a place in their “stunning” exhibition at the Devonshire Dome, Buxton in July. The theme this year is “Fire and Light”.

All members are offered the opportunity to have some photographs on the club website.

If you already have your own web site a link to it can be added to the club site on the Members’ Websites page

 

PHOTOCLINIC

This is a great opportunity to receive critique of your photos in a friendly, constructive and non-competitive arena so do consider coming along. The next dates booked are:

  13th June   11th July   8th August

How To Do It Group

Informal sessions in a member's house are held for members who want help with various skills related to producing and showing photographs.

This will be practical advice on topics such as how to use a digital camera, how to manipulate images in Photoshop and then print them, and how to mount your prints.

Look for the sign-up sheet or ask Mike or Cath.
