Welcome to the first email newsletter of 2011. Although we’re only in week 3 we’ve already seen some really good photography this year, and hopefully this trend will continue for the next weeks.

The 41st Annual Exhibition is held at Salisbury Library, Market Place, Salisbury from Saturday the 8th to Saturday the 29th of January. The SPF was pleased to have the Exhibition judged by Pete McCloskey FRPS APAGB from the Western Counties Photographic Association.

Winchester PS 78th Annual Open Exhibition 16th April – 8th May 2011

OPEN FOR ENTRIES: 1st – 28th February 2011

Winchester Photographic Society is pleased to announce its 2011 Annual Open Exhibition will be held, as in previous years, in the City Space gallery at the Discovery Centre (Library) in Jewry Street, Winchester from Saturday 16th April until Sunday 8th May 2011.

The submission period for entries for consideration into the Exhibition is the month of February 2011. All entries must be made, and images submitted,

by the closing date of Monday 28th February 2011.

PHOTOCLINIC

This is a great opportunity to receive critique of your photos in a friendly, constructive and non-competitive arena so do consider coming along. The next dates booked are:

How To Do It Group

Informal sessions in a member's house are held for members who want help with various skills related to producing and showing photographs.

This will be practical advice on topics such as how to use a digital camera, how to manipulate images in Photoshop and then print them, and how to mount your prints.

Look for the sign-up sheet or ask Mike or Cath.

 Hampshire Gravestone Photographic Resource Project - May to July, 2011

A project to create a photographic record of all the gravestones in Hampshire, and they’re asking for help.

Southampton Camera Club's Memorial Lecture

to be held at Thornden Hall, Chandlers Ford, on Sunday, 28th March 2011.

The speaker will be David Noton, an award winning travel and landscape photographer who will be showing his presentation 'Chasing the Light'.

The Memorial Lecture is now in its fourth year and is always a sell-out. For more information, go to the Southampton Camera Club website. This will show you a seating plan and give you an email address for obtaining tickets, which are £8 each.
