Welcome to Basingstoke Camera Club October 2005.
I cannot believe that we are already in October. The year has certainly flown.
This year I have found my interest in photography renewed. I have put this down to the purchase of a new camera. Nothing like renewing an interesting like getting a new toy.
Well, as we come to the end of 2005 and start yet another camera club season. I wish you all well in the coming competitions and shall look forward to competing in 2006.

CHINEHAM EXHIBITION 2005
Once again, due to the good offices of our local library staff, the club was able to hold the Members’ Exhibition at Chineham Library for 3 weeks in September. The aim of this exhibition is to allow members the opportunity to publically exhibit work of their own choosing which may not otherwise be displayed in the usual exhibition circuit.
The event was well supported, with 26 photographs exhibited from 14 members, and feedback so far has been most encouraging.
As usual, the staff at the library voted for the winners’ placings, but it would seem the original voting was so close help was needed in the form of the bloke who drives the mobile library! Eventually a decision was arrived at:
1st: Dennis Thomas with “Fairfield Horseshoe”
2nd: Wyn Voisey with “Winter Snow”
Joint 3rd: Mike French with “Chinkwell Tor II” and Sonia Wadsworth with “Midnight Passage”.
This event is a good advert for the club in the local area, so thanks to all who entered work, and well done to Dennis for his winning photo. Copies of all the exhibited photographs will shortly be added for viewing to the club website, as last year.
I would like to offer my thanks to Alan Quick for his valuable assistance in putting up the exhibition.
And it’s not too soon for anyone who hasn’t so far enetered to start planning their entries for next year! It’ll be here before we know it!
