Issue No. 20 -July 2008

Welcome to the July 2008 edition of the BCC E-News.

We are now well into the Summer Programme so the weather has joined in with it’s usual gusto and has rained most Thursdays whilst being nice the rest of the week!

So we will continue to thumb our noses at the rain during the rest of July and carry on taking phohotgraphs regardless.

Meet at 7pm unless specified otherwise.  We normally head for the nominated pub when the light gets poor.

us. There will be a cost - £2 for young people and £1 for pensioners.

Keith Brant has set it up for us, and will be there. You are asked to meet in the car park at Barton's Mill at 7pm.

Summer Programme Reports

Barbeque - June 19th

Mike and Cath Farrow again hosted the annual Barbie. The weather looked promising early in the day, and Mike did a stirling job of organising the cooking facilities, although about 8 o’clock  a cold wind got up and drove all but the most hardy into the warmth of their lounge, where an impromptu slide show of a recent exhibtion provided the entertainment. The evening was well attended and a good time was had by all.  Thanks again to Mike & Cath for their hospitality

The Vyne and Morgston Wood - June 26th

Another day which started well but ended up a bit damp!  Nonetheless a good number turned up for a walk round the woods, although the light was a bit poor, here was still plenty of subject matter.  Spirits were revived afterwards in the Swan pub at Sherborne St John.

Ovington - July 3rd

Another lovely evening with dazzling sunshine in the heart of Hampshire down by the river Test.  Well attended once more a number of us headed off to a small church which offered some good photo opportunities while others roamed the village with equal success.  The evening was nicely rounded off in the Bush Inn, reknowned for its good food and fine ales.

Hannington - July 10th

A warm and pleasant evening greeted us at Hannington and a good crowd gathered in the Vyne pub later in the evening after a lot of strolling and photograph taking.  The only mishap was an accident on the A339 which delayed one or two, but Hannington is a pretty village and is always worth seeing through the viewfinder.

Longparish - July 17th

A lovely spot down the A303, with walk to the river Test with swans on the river.  Unfortunately it statred to rain about 8-ish, which prompted a gathering in the pub. Another good evening, if foreshortened by the weather.
