Print of Year Trophy Digital Image of Year Trophy

This competition is held at the start of the season to find the best images from the previous year. Each member may enter up to two digital images and/or prints from work entered in the previous season’s Club Competitions.

League Competitions

Digital Image League A Trophy Digital Image League B Trophy Print League A Trophy Print League B Trophy

League format competitions, one for Prints and one for Digital Images, held over four rounds. Each member may enter two digital images or prints in each round. League positions are determined by the cumulative score over the four rounds.

Members are divided into an 'A' league and a 'B' league, with promotion from the B league for the top-scoring members at the end of the season.

Fred Adnams Competition

Fred Adnams Trophy

Each member may enter up to three digital images, to be judged individually. This year the subject of each image will be British Nature. All Images must have been photographed within the British Isles.

Cliff Dyble Competition

Cliff Dyble Trophy

Each entrant may enter a panel of three prints, comprising one landscape, one human portrait and one free choice (which is not to be a landscape or human portrait). Each entry will be judged as a panel with all three prints displayed together although there is no requirement for them all to be of the same subject or theme

Set Subject Competitions

PicStop

Two competitions, one for prints and one for digital images. Members may enter up to three images in each competition. This year the set subjects are:

Prints: "Minimalism"
Digital: "Humour"

This year there is a prize for the winner, kindly supplied by PicStop

Common Image

Each member can enter one final print made from a Common Image supplied by the Competition Secretary. The member should explain how the final print was arrived at from the original image using intermediate prints as required.

The winning entry will be judged by the members present.

Set of Four Prints

Each member may enter one panel which will consist of four prints which are in some way linked.

The winning entry will be judged by the members present.

Inter-Club Competitions

Basingstoke Camera Club is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the Southern Photographic Federation (SPF).The SPF organises inter-club league competitions (digital and prints) that the club participates in. Entries are selected primarily from the Print and Digital Image of the Year competition. Two of the club evenings are devoted to judging rounds in the SPF league.

The format of the competition is league of six rounds. In each round the same set of images are judged by a different judge, hosted by one of the participating clubs. Details of the individual rounds and the hosting clubs can be found on the SPF web site - prints (Basingstoke is in Division 1) and digital (Division 3).
